Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will support the Chef/Owner in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, and maintaining a high standard of service. Your energetic leadership will inspire the kitchen staff, foster teamwork, and uphold our commitment to culinary excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills, manage diverse food service environments, and contribute to a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

Assist in supervising daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
Support menu planning and development, incorporating innovative ideas while maintaining cost control and inventory management.
Lead and motivate kitchen staff by providing clear direction, training, and mentorship to foster a collaborative work environment.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitizing procedures, and health regulations to uphold the highest levels of cleanliness and safety.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices.
Oversee catering events and banquet services, coordinating with the team to deliver flawless execution in high-pressure situations.
Assist in shift management and kitchen scheduling to optimize staffing levels during busy periods while maintaining operational efficiency.

Requirements

Proven experience in scratch kitchen food production within fine dining or similar high volume restaurant environments.
Demonstrated supervising experience with a strong background in team management and leadership roles as a chef or kitchen supervisor.
Extensive knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling techniques.
Hands-on experience running a line, catering operations, and restaurant management.
Strong skills in prep skills, inventory management, cost control, menu planning, and food service management.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
Excellent communication skills coupled with a passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
