Full Job Description

REPORTS TO: Assistant General Manager

CLUB INFORMATION:

Founded in 1900, the Lancaster Country Club (LCC) is a highly ranked Platinum Club of America and is one of the finest private clubs in all of Pennsylvania. Facilities include an 18-hole championship golf course, 9-hole golf course, 9 tennis courts, 3 platform tennis courts, aquatic, and fitness facilities, along with two separate dining establishments (one located in our Clubhouse with the other in our Activities Pavilion). We are committed to offering the best services for the over 640 members of our club, including their families and guests, in an atmosphere of warm congeniality.

LCC was recently the host of the 2024 U.S. Women's Open Championship, which was incredibly successful and brought tremendous accolades to the club. The club has become more family-oriented, featuring events and amenities for every demographic while focusing on ever increasing programs for youth, including summer camps, a swim team, youth social events, as well as extensive junior golf and tennis programs.

POSITION PROFILE:

This is a full time, year-round position that provides an incredible opportunity for individuals that are starting their career in hospitality management to come and gain valuable experience at a Platinum Club with an exceptional management and mentoring staff. This position would have direct oversight of the day-to-day food service and event operations. This position would serve as a vital component of our overall management team focused on the improvement of the overall membership experience at LCC.

LCC provides an environment of continual improvement and would be committed to the career development of individuals in this position. The candidate must have the ability to positively train and lead a team to provide a first-class member experience. The candidate will be expected to maintain high visibility with the membership in the dining room and other areas as needed.

POSITION RESPONSIBILTIES:

Be present and available to interact with members while on property
Ensure that members and their guests enjoy exceptional dining experiences
Complete regular opening and closing shifts; ensure the overall safety and preservation of the Club and prepare shift reports.
Plan, implement, and maintain processes to enhance the member and team experience
Be directly involved in hiring, onboarding, development, and discipline of all reporting positions
Ensure all areas of the club are properly staffed through judicious scheduling and ongoing recruitment
Support the service team with daily operations, assisting in any FOH roles as needed
Oversee planning, set up, execution, and breakdown of banquet events
Act as a "situational leader," monitoring the quality and pace of service on the floor and assisting where needed
Communicate and collaborate professionally with various other departments in the club
Exercise sound financial stewardship of the department and club's assets, via payroll oversight, tracking revenue and expenses, and conducting monthly beverage and asset inventories

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Four-year degree in hospitality or business management preferred
Working knowledge of various F&B service techniques and programs
Previous banquet management experience
Leadership skills focused on training and motivating a team to provide customized member service
Advanced beverage knowledge preferred
Ability to work with various computer and POS systems
High level of integrity and character in order to act as a representative of the club both on and off the job
High level of attention to detail, with a coaching mentality to develop continued improvement in staff performance
Experience with training and leading a team

AVAILABILITY:

Hours vary throughout the year based on seasonality and business but on average, weeks fall between 45-50 hours.
Must have open availability, with the ability to work mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays. We are closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
