Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent patient care skills, and proficiency with various dental software systems. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your technical skills and compassionate approach will make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper documentation.
Manage patient records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear working field during procedures.
Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort throughout appointments.
Support infection control protocols through aseptic technique and proper sterilization procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
Assist with medical documentation, coding procedures accurately for billing and insurance purposes using medical coding standards.
Educate patients on post-treatment care and answer questions regarding oral health practices.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless clinic operations, including reception duties when necessary as a dental receptionist.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental procedures and pediatrics is preferred.
