Full Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Process Engineer to join our team. As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes and ensuring efficient production operations. Your expertise in robotics, process engineering, and plastics injection molding will be crucial in driving continuous improvement and implementing lean manufacturing practices.

Duties:

-· Set up new processes and machines to meet KPI targets – cost, cycle time, scrap, OEE, safety, etc.

· Evaluate and implement process improvements and savings by designing, developing, testing and evaluating systems for production processes.

· Help with the quoting of new business using standard cost model methods

· Direct internal or external sources on fixture design including work holding, stops, and clamping elements.

· Work with suppliers on cutting tool designs, considering costs and tool life

· Conduct tooling tests: Provide guidelines and criteria for Machinist and Manufacturing Engineers, and evaluate the results using cost-based decision making tools

· Prepare SOW’s for tooling, machines, and fixtures

· Continuously make suggestions to improve processes regarding cost, scrap, and OEE.

· Perform ROI calculations for new equipment, tools, changes and processes.

· Train CNC Machinist on set up of machines, tooling, fixtures, etc.

· Familiar with detailed Engineering drawings regarding dimensions, GD&T, fit and finish, and specifications.

· Strong knowledge of APQP methodology and elements.

· Ability to access CNC programs and make changes when necessary

Responsible for quality and performance of programs and machining parts

· Run parts for prototype

Responsible for the prototype machining according to spec.

· Documentation of process and work via work instructions, etc.

Responsible for accuracy for content of created WI

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
