Full Job Description

Department: Officers

Reports to: President and CEO

Supervises:

Summary: Manages the bank’s public image and stakeholder communications. Acts as public for for corporate announcements, handles media inquiries. Must balance brand promotion with strict regulatory compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Media Relations

· Works with senior management and product managers to develop publicity programs to support the bank’s business plan.

· Develops studies on shareholder opinions and share ownership.

· Cultivate relationships with various media outlets

· Crisis Management-Develop and deploy communication strategies to protect the banks reputation in case of any crisis situation

· Protect and promote brand and reputation management.

· Promote bank’s corporate social responsibility

· Edits, rewrites and proofreads articles about the institution before they are issued to the public.

· Internal communications; align internal stakeholders with bank public messaging.

· Work along compliance teams

2.. Community Involvement & Education

· Provide leadership in community engagement initiatives to enhance the bank’s visibility, reputation, and market presence

· Represent the bank in community, civic, and community reinvestment activities, strengthening relationships and supporting business development opportunities

· Partner with branch managers and lending staff to identify and participate in local organizations, events, and outreach efforts that align with strategic growth objectives

· Serve as a subject matter resource by speaking to external groups, when appropriate, on consumer lending, financial literacy, and related topics

· Advise customers on financial matters in a responsible manner, ensuring guidance aligns with sound banking practices while mitigating lender liability risk

· Advise customers, where possible, concerning business management and financial matters and avoid lender liability issues

· Support the bank’s commitment to community development by fostering relationships that contribute to long-term customer growth and market positioning

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

B.S. or B.A. college degree in corporate communications, marketing or communication skills desirable. Three to Five years banking experience and press communications preferred. Ability to think through and understand a process from start to finish and make prudent lending decisions. Excellent communication skills required. Must be able to solve problems quickly and accurately. Ability to read and write routine business correspondence and interpret complex reports. Ability to read, write and speak effectively and make presentations. Ability to manage multiple assignments and work under pressure. Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to make decisions and handle a variety of situations within the department. Ability to include ten key, typing, computer skills, communication skills and basic clerical skills. Good organizational skills. A valid drivers license is required.
