Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage comprehensive accounting functions for our organization. This vital role involves overseeing all aspects of financial record-keeping, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting systems, financial software, and both corporate and governmental accounting standards. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, support audit processes, and facilitate smooth financial operations across departments.

Duties

Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions while handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Conduct detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies, resolve issues promptly, and ensure data integrity across multiple accounting platforms like Quickbooks, Paychex, ADP, and others.
Assist with sales tax preparation activities by managing tax-related documentation and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Perform account reconciliation tasks regularly to ensure accuracy of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
Handle payroll processing through systems such as Paychex or ADP while ensuring timely payments and accurate deductions.
Contribute to process improvements by leveraging technical accounting knowledge and accounting software expertise to streamline workflows.
Monthly workpaper file preparation with source documents and others.
Daily client contact and communication.
Ability to manage bill pay for VIP clients timely and efficiently.

Experience

Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
Hands-on experience with multiple financial software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP or equivalent systems.
Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation procedures.
Demonstrated ability to handle complex data entry tasks with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills and Excel data analysis techniques.
Familiarity with payroll processing systems like Paychex or ADP along with experience managing accounts payable and receivable functions.
Knowledge of technical accounting concepts.
Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail; ability to interpret financial concepts clearly and accurately.
Prior experience working in public accounting or within a financial services environment is highly desirable.
