Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller specializing in Residential Construction to join our growing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the overall financial health of our residential projects. Your expertise will contribute to accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis, empowering our organization to achieve operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting skills within a vibrant construction environment committed to quality and integrity.

Duties

Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy .
Manage general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
Conduct detailed bank reconciliations and cash flow analyses to monitor financial stability.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for residential construction projects.
Mentor accounting staff by providing guidance on technical accounting concepts and best practices.

Requirements

Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in cost and intercompany accounting within the residential construction industry is highly desirable.
Proficiency with accounting software, Sage preferred
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
Experience in account reconciliation, journal entries, budget management, and financial report writing.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to mentor team members while fostering a collaborative work environment.
