Full Job Description

Position Summary

Cardish Machine Works is seeking a skilled Welder / Custom Fabricator to join our team. This role involves welding, fabricating, and repairing custom parts and assemblies for a wide range of industrial applications. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and capable of working from drawings or concepts to produce high-quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities

Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Fabricate custom components and assemblies based on blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
Measure, cut, fit, and assemble materials to precise tolerances
Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, presses, and other shop tools
Perform repairs and modifications to existing equipment and components
Inspect finished welds and fabricated parts to ensure quality and accuracy
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Collaborate with machinists and other team members to complete projects efficiently

Additional Responsibilities

Assist with material handling and shop organization as needed
Support urgent repair or breakdown jobs with quick turnaround times
Perform basic equipment maintenance and upkeep
Take on miscellaneous shop tasks as required

Qualifications

Proven experience in welding and custom fabrication
Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding (Stick welding a plus)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Strong understanding of fabrication processes and metal properties
Experience using fabrication tools and equipment
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Physical ability to lift materials and perform hands-on tasks

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
