Full Job Description

Position: Youth Peer Recovery Support Specialist

Time Requirement: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Salary Range: Hourly $22-24/hour, depending on experience and qualifications

SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting the mission and vision of Revive Recovery Resource Center by providing peer recovery support services to youth and young adults impacted by substance use disorder and co-occurring conditions, including those involved in or at risk of involvement in the criminal justice system.

The Youth Peer Recovery Support Specialist will work to engage youth in recovery-oriented services through relationship-building, mentorship, and connection to community-based supports, while helping them navigate barriers related to housing, education, employment, family dynamics, and overall stability.

This position will support continuity of care through early engagement, service coordination, and ongoing follow-up, with a focus on long-term recovery, stabilization, and positive youth development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide peer recovery support services to youth and young adults in both individual and group settings

· Engage youth through outreach in community settings, schools, programs, and partner agencies

· Support development of individualized wellness plans, recovery goals, and stabilization strategies

· Assist youth in navigating systems including education, behavioral health, housing, employment, and benefits

· Provide mentorship and skill-building support focused on life skills, decision-making, and resilience

· Facilitate or co-facilitate youth-centered recovery groups, activities, and workshops

· Support family engagement and communication when appropriate

· Assist with referrals to treatment, recovery supports, and community-based services

· Collaborate with criminal justice partners, schools, and youth-serving organizations to coordinate care

· Support youth transitioning from systems involvement, including detention, probation, or other court involvement

· Provide follow-up support to promote engagement, retention, and stability

· Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed

· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in required data systems

· Assist with outreach efforts, events, and youth engagement initiatives

· Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

· Complete other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

· Knowledge of youth development, substance use, and recovery pathways

· Understanding of peer recovery support services and harm reduction principles

· Ability to build trust and rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work effectively with families and support systems

· Knowledge of community resources for youth, including education, housing, and behavioral health services

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organization

· Experience with group facilitation or willingness to learn

· Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and G-Suite

· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends

· Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

This position requires an approachable, energetic, and empathetic individual who is passionate about supporting youth in their recovery journey. The ideal candidate is relatable, non-judgmental, and able to meet youth where they are while encouraging growth and positive change.

The individual must demonstrate patience, creativity, and the ability to connect with youth in meaningful ways. A strong commitment to multiple pathways of recovery and a trauma-informed approach is essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required

Lived experience with recovery strongly preferred

Experience working with youth, young adults, or justice-involved populations preferred

Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW) or willingness to obtain within required timeframe preferred

Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required
