About Fortune Products

Fortune Products is a growing consumer products company specializing in knife and tool sharpeners, knives, multi-tools, and related products. Our brands serve customers across Housewares, Restaurant Supply, Hardware, Sporting Goods, Outdoor, and Industrial/Commercial channels.

We sell through a mix of B2B wholesale channels, including distributors, independent retailers, buying groups, mass merchants, and specialty dealers. We are looking for a Sales Manager who understands how consumer products move through these channels and can help us grow with the right customers.

Role Overview

The Sales Manager will be responsible for growing sales with existing accounts while developing new B2B customer opportunities across our core markets. This role requires a practical, hands-on sales professional who can manage accounts, open new doors, work with distributors and rep groups, support pricing discipline, and identify product opportunities based on customer and market feedback.

This is not a software or technology sales role. The ideal candidate has experience selling physical consumer products into wholesale, retail, distributor, dealer, or commercial supply channels.

Reports to: General Manager

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute sales plans for assigned channels, including Housewares, Restaurant Supply, Hardware, Sporting Goods, Outdoor, and related B2B markets.

Grow revenue with distributors, dealers, buying groups, e-commerce retailers, catalog accounts, mass merchants, and specialty retailers.

Identify and pursue new B2B customers that are a strong fit for Fortune Products’ product lines.

Manage existing customer relationships through regular communication, account reviews, product presentations, and in-person meetings.

Work with distributors, independent reps, and buying groups to improve product placement, sell-through, and account coverage.

Prepare sales forecasts, customer updates, pipeline reports, and market feedback for leadership.

Monitor marketplace and online pricing activity to help protect brand value and channel integrity.

Collaborate with internal teams on pricing, promotions, product launches, packaging, merchandising, and customer-specific programs.

Gather customer feedback to identify product development opportunities, competitive threats, and unmet market needs.

Represent the company at trade shows, customer meetings, distributor events, and buying group shows as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant business experience.

Minimum of 5 years of sales experience selling physical products into B2B, wholesale, retail, distributor, dealer, or commercial supply channels.

Minimum of 3 years of sales management, key account management, territory management, or channel management experience.

Proven success opening new accounts and growing existing accounts.

Experience working with distributors, buying groups, independent retailers, mass merchants, e-commerce accounts, or rep groups.

Strong understanding of wholesale pricing, margins, MAP/pricing discipline, promotions, and channel conflict.

Ability to travel for customer meetings, trade shows, and account development.

Comfortable working in a small to medium-sized company where hands-on execution is required.

Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office, and basic sales reporting tools.

Experience with QuickBooks or similar business software is a plus.

Skills and Attributes

Strong B2B account development skills.

Ability to sell practical, physical products to commercial buyers, distributors, and retailers.

Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Comfortable prospecting, qualifying, and closing new customer opportunities.

Ability to analyze sales performance, customer trends, pricing issues, and market opportunities.

Organized and disciplined with follow-up, forecasting, reporting, and account planning.

Able to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day sales execution.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Customer-focused, professional, and self-motivated.

Work Environment and Requirements

Full-time, on-site position based in Leander, Texas.

This role is not remote.

Candidates must be able to commute to or relocate near Leander, Texas before starting work.

No relocation package is provided.

Travel required, approximately 25%.
