Commercial Construction Estimator

Camm Construction is growing, and we are looking for a strong Commercial Construction Estimator who wants to be part of a team that is building momentum the right way.

We are not a massive corporate contractor where estimators are buried in layers of management and disconnected from operations. At Camm, estimators are a critical part of the team — directly influencing project success, profitability, and company growth.

We are looking for someone who:

What You'll Do

As our Estimator, you will lead the front-end estimating and preconstruction process for commercial construction projects.

Core Responsibilities

Prepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and bid proposals
Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements
Solicit and manage subcontractor/vendor pricing
Scope trades and identify gaps or risk areas
Participate in project handoff and kickoff meetings with PMs and Superintendents
Help create realistic schedules, procurement plans, and buyout strategies
Track estimate vs actual trends to improve future accuracy
Support bid strategy discussions with leadership
Help improve bid quality, efficiency, and hit rate

What We're Looking For

Preferred Experience

5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
Experience in:
Healthcare construction
TI / commercial interiors
Renovation projects
Ability to read and interpret construction documents confidently
Strong understanding of:
Labor and material pricing
Means and methods
Scope development
Project risk analysis
Experience with estimating software and Excel
Strong communication and organizational skills

Bonus Points

Existing subcontractor relationships
Preconstruction/client-facing experience
Design-build or negotiated work experience
Ability to think operationally beyond estimating

Compensation & Benefits

Camm Construction offers a competitive compensation package designed to reward accuracy, teamwork, bid performance, and long-term project success.

Base salary: $80,000 – $100,000, based on experience and proven success
Performance bonus: Target bonus opportunity of 10%–15% of base salary
Bonus factors may include:
Estimate accuracy
Bid acceptance / hit rate
Margin protection
Estimate-to-actual performance
Quality of project handoff
Team collaboration and process improvement
