As a Carpenter with Sacred Oak Homes, you will work directly with an experienced Lead Carpenter on residential and light commercial projects throughout Berkshire County. You'll be hands-on in framing, building, and finishing high-quality structures that our clients live and work in every day.
This role is a strong fit for an experienced carpenter who wants to sharpen their craft, take on varied, custom work, and grow within a stable, well-respected local builder that values integrity and teamwork.
- Build and install structural elements, including foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs, using wood, steel, metal, concrete, and composite materials.
- Assist with fitting and installing windows, doors, hardware, and both interior and exterior trim to precise measurements and finish standards.
- Erect and safely use scaffolding and ladders to complete work at various heights in compliance with safety guidelines.
- Cut, position, and secure timbers, lumber, paneling, and drywall to specified dimensions using hand and power tools.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site by cleaning work areas, machines, and tools, and properly storing materials and equipment.
- Within your first 36 months, you reliably complete assigned tasks with minimal rework, demonstrating solid craftsmanship and attention to detail.
- You consistently follow safety practices and contribute to a job site culture where safety, cleanliness, and organization are standard.
- You work smoothly with the Lead Carpenter and team, communicating clearly and supporting an efficient project schedule.
- Clients, supervisors, and teammates trust your workmanship, reliability, and professionalism on a variety of remodeling and new build projects.
- At least 5 years of carpentry experience in residential and/or light commercial construction.
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety and the ability to complete company-specific safety orientation and follow guidelines.
- Ability to work harmoniously as part of a team, take direction from a Lead Carpenter, and communicate clearly on site.
- High integrity, professionalism, and a genuine eagerness to learn and continue developing your carpentry skills.
