Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Alterations Tailor to join our dynamic fashion retail team. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for customizing and fitting garments to ensure each customer leaves feeling confident and satisfied. Your craftsmanship will help bring our customers’ style visions to life, providing exceptional service with precision and care. Responsibilities

Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to alter garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing
Ensure all alterations meet high-quality standards with attention to detail and craftsmanship
Communicate clearly with colleagues about tailoring requests, timelines, and options
Maintain a clean, organized workspace with all sewing tools, machines, and materials properly stored
Collaborate with sales associates to provide seamless service and support customer satisfaction
Keep track of alteration orders, progress, and completion times efficiently

Qualifications

Proven experience in garment construction, sewing, or alterations tailoring within a fashion retail environment
Proficiency with sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques for various fabrics and garment types
Strong understanding of garment fitting, fabric behavior, and sewing machine operation
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Basic math skills for measuring, pattern adjustments, and calculations related to garment alterations
Knowledge of fashion retail operations is preferred but not required
Ability to stand for extended periods, work efficiently under pressure, and pay close attention to detail

Pants taper only half leg 20 minutes
Pants plain hem 10 minutes

Shirt sleeves original move up button 30 minutes

We have positions in Los Angeles as well. Would you consider a position in Los Angeles?
We always have tight deadlines and the work is tough. Are you okay working on a sewing machine for 8 long hours? with mid-shift 30 min meal breaks and 20 min rest breaks, as per the law, of course)
