Full Job Description

Job Overview
This is a hybrid/remote position with 3 days in the office and 2 working from home.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. This hybrid/remote position allows the flexibility of working remotely 2 days per week and requiring 3 days per week in the office. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in medical billing and coding and a strong understanding of current coding practices and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately code medical procedures, diagnoses, and services using CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes.
Review medical records to ensure proper documentation and coding compliance.
Submit and track insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursements.
Resolve billing discrepancies and denials efficiently.
Stay updated on coding changes, payer policies, and compliance regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to streamline coding and billing processes.
Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualification

CPC, and/ or CCS or equivalent certification - but not required.
A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in medical billing, coding, preferability in a clinical or hospital setting.
Familiarity with medical terminology and coding practices is essential.
Proficient in medical coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while adhering to deadlines.
Familiarity with payer-specific requirements and guidelines.

Work Environment:

Hours work 8am – 4pm
Remote work two days a week
In-office attendance is required three days a week.
