Full Job Description

Venture Metals + is a fast-growing, metal recycling. We are looking for a experienced Logistic Coordinator to join our team!

This position requires a candidate with at least two years of verifiable dispatching/logistics experience. We are looking for an experienced and professional over-the-road trucking dispatcher to coordinate and assign movements of drivers, shipments, and deliveries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead daily dispatch coordinating daily workload.
Record, organize, and file all transportation documents.
Communicate effectively via email and phone. Answering phone calls from vendors, customers, and management and helping them as needed.
Update daily schedule for Shipping/receiving.
Communicating with customers and vendors about freight details, pickup and drop-off times, and special requests.
Learn and master Dispatch Software, Materials program, JJ Keller ELD software, and Motive ELD software.
Monitor and track any maintenance and compliance related requirements.
Manage productivity, report delays, analyze trends and market updates.
Preparing general dispatch documents for management, as well as pulling any documents that employees, customers, or vendors will need.
Create Driver files for company and contracted employees and update as needed.
Maintain constant dialogue with all Venture Metals Management staff and employees.
Contact vendors, accounts, and customers per task.
Provide files, paperwork as needed internal and external.
Assist all VM+ Facilities with transportation needs as back up.
Inbound and outbound rail billing.
Customs communications.

Qualifications:

2-year min. Dispatch/Logistics knowledge.
Must have knowledge in Microsoft Suite knowledge.
Ability to focus on desired results, company initiatives, and values.
Adaptable to very fast-paced environment and perform in a deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
Experience working in a warehouse and/or office environment.
Must be able to work independently and provide strong attention to detail.
Balances team and individual responsibilities.
2 years’ experience in clerical related responsibilities (for example, filing, data entry, maintaining financial records) using computer applications (for example, email, spreadsheets, word processing) AND 1 years’ experience interacting with customers in writing and verbally.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Valid State Driver’s License.
MUST have reliable transportation.
Ability to work under pressure and solve logistical problems when necessary
Have knowledge about scrap metal
Have knowledge about the different container sizes
Optional but highly recommended if a new person has CDL and has driven a commercial truck in the past. This would greatly help with customer service and work better with the carries.

Working Conditions:

Work is both in an office and all climate warehouse and some outdoor time near vehicles while processing paperwork.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb one flight of stairs.
