Full Job Description

KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced, and highly motivated Senior Production and Quality Engineer, to join our team. This position will be on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD and 30% travel to Industry sites. This work is not eligible for teleworking.

Established in July 2013, KAIROS, Inc. is a growing Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) specializing in Life Cycle Program Management, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Logistics and Sustainment, Enterprise Platforms and AI, and Additive Manufacturing services focused on optimizing customers’ program performance and mission through proven methodologies and ethical practices. This position will perform research analysis and technical domain engineering support in M&QE for a classified program at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD.

Primary Duties:

Provide support for Production & Quality of an early development classified program.
Examine suppliers and perform facilities evaluations assessing contractor design, development and manufacturing/quality planning activities, ensuring that production and producibility considerations are being appropriately integrated into the systems engineering process.
Conduct quality research and data analysis to provide support in the establishment of M&QE requirements and management of M&QE efforts through all acquisition phases, including capacity analysis to examine for scalability.
Evaluate design producibility, manufacturing planning and proposed or actual production/quality processes considering program affordability needs and with respect to established schedules and production plans.
Prepare technical risk assessments for decision meetings and related briefings.
Support the M&QE Division and IPT in planning and leading design, manufacturing and quality risk reduction efforts, producibility assessments and Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
Provide technical support for producibility and manufacturing discussions in design reviews and program/technical meetings and provide design and process oriented technical inputs.
Identify the causes of potential or actual manufacturing, producibility, or quality problems and recommend solutions to M&QE and IPT management via briefing or written correspondence.
Support the M&QE lead during the conduct of Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs), Quality System Evaluations (QSEs), Engineering Investigations (EIs), and other M&QE reviews. Support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) events.
Conduct quality research and data analysis to assist M&QE Division leadership in improving M&QE products and capabilities so that they optimally support programs and fleet readiness.

Skills and Qualifications:

Industrial Engineering background is desired
M&Q skills highly desired
Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
Strong customer relations, analytics, and documentation skills
Self-starter, highly motivated, strong work ethic with a commitment to quality
Microsoft office suite proficiency, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to work within a challenging, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Ability to work independently
Ability to multi-task and meet competing, deliverable deadlines
Detail oriented
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear status and/or communicate issues
Ability to adapt to evolving technology

Education and Experience:

Must have a Master’s Degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university
In lieu of a Master’s Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted
Must have minimum of ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) years of which must be directly related to DoD systems.

Clearance:
This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance.

Compensation:
While skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary. Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines. The estimated salary range for this position is $148,000 to $164,000. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.
