Austin is a relationship-driven market, and we're looking for someone who knows how to become part of it.

DL Cabinetry is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to grow our professional customer base throughout Austin and the surrounding market.

This is not a position where you wait for leads to come to you.

We're looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, making calls, attending events, visiting businesses, building a network, and finding opportunities others may overlook. You should be comfortable hearing "no," following up anyway, and continuing to build relationships until opportunities turn into business.

Approximately 80% of this role is focused on developing new business, with the remaining 20% focused on strengthening and growing relationships with existing customers.

What You'll Do

Develop new professional customers throughout Austin and within approximately a 100-mile territory.
Prospect contractors, remodelers, installers, builders, dealers, designers, and other industry professionals.
Make consistent outbound calls and follow up with prospective customers.
Build relationships through face-to-face visits, referrals, networking, and industry connections.
Open new professional customer accounts and help develop them into long-term DL customers.
Reconnect with dormant and inactive customers to identify opportunities to win back their business.
Attend local construction, remodeling, networking, and industry events.
Visit key existing customers regularly to strengthen relationships and identify additional opportunities.
Develop creative strategies for reaching new customers and expanding DL Cabinetry's presence throughout the Austin market.
Maintain an active pipeline and accurately document sales activity, contacts, follow-ups, and opportunities in HubSpot.
Develop and manage your territory with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Work from our Austin location approximately one week each month, spending the remainder of your time developing business throughout the territory.
Partner with our Sales & Design team to ensure new customers receive a strong transition and continued support.

What Success Looks Like

This position is about creating measurable growth, not simply staying busy.

Current performance expectations include:

Consistently developing new professional customers, with current goals targeting approximately 20+ new customers per month
Attending approximately 3 industry or networking events per month
Completing approximately 10 visits with key customers per month
Maintaining consistent outbound prospecting and HubSpot activity
Re-engaging dormant and inactive customers
Developing a healthy pipeline of future business
Building meaningful relationships throughout the Austin construction and remodeling community

Performance goals may evolve as the Austin market and territory continue to grow.

Who We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

Have strong experience in business development, outside sales, or relationship-based sales.
Have experience developing new accounts rather than simply servicing an existing book of business.
Love networking and genuinely enjoy meeting new people.
Are comfortable making outbound calls and starting conversations with people who don't already know you.
Have connections within Austin's contractor, remodeling, cabinetry, building-materials, installer, builder, or dealer community.
Know the Austin market and are active in the local business community.
Take initiative and don't need someone constantly telling you where the next opportunity is.
Think creatively and are willing to try new ways of generating business.
Handle rejection well and don't allow a few "no's" to slow you down.
Know how to follow up consistently without losing track of opportunities.
Are comfortable managing your own schedule and territory.
Have experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM.
Bring energy, confidence, professionalism, and credibility into customer interactions.

Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.

The Person We're Really Looking For

We're looking for someone who sees Austin differently.

You notice the new development going up across town. You know which contractors are busy. You hear about a networking event and want to know who's going. You meet an installer and immediately start thinking about who they know.

You don't need to be handed every opportunity.

You create them.

And when a prospect says no, you understand that business development often means building the relationship today so the answer may be different six months from now.
