Full Job Description

Freight Accounts Receivable Clerk Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Freight Accounts Receivable Clerk. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records related to accounts receivable for our freight operations.Your primary objective will be to ensure timely and accurate invoicing, collection, and reconciliation of outstanding payments.

Responsibilities:

1. Generate and distribute accurate and timely invoices to customers for freight services rendered.

2. Monitor and review customer accounts to ensure prompt payment of outstanding invoices using Quickbooks and Dispatch Platform.

3. Follow up with customers via phone, email, or other communication channels to resolve any payment discrepancies or outstanding balances.

4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer payments, adjustments, and credits.

5. Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payments.

6. Prepare and distribute periodic reports on accounts receivable to management, highlighting any significant trends or issues.

7. Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales and operations, to address customer inquiries and provide necessary documentation or information.

8. Comply with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant accounting and financial regulations.

9.. Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of financial reports and analysis.

10. Daily/Weekly bank deposit.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or degree in accounting or finance preferred.

2. Proven work experience as an accounts receivable clerk or in a similar role within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.

3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, specifically in accounts receivable management.

4. Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel

.5. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve payment discrepancies.

7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with customers and internal stakeholders.

8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

9. Familiarity with freight forwarding operations and related documentation will be an added advantage.

10. Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures is a plus.

Pay: $41,600.00 - $52,000.00 per year
