Full Job Description

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Location: Yuba City Area (In Office)

An established construction company is seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of multiple business entities. This is a high-level role that works directly with ownership and is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of accounting, financial reporting, payroll, compliance, and business operations.

Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger
Prepare monthly financial statements, cash flow reports, and support budgeting
Maintain job costing and project accounting within QuickBooks Enterprise
Process payroll and assist with payroll tax reporting and workers' compensation
Oversee customer billing, collections, and vendor payments
Assist with contract administration, lien releases, insurance renewals, and compliance reporting
Coordinate with CPAs, banks, insurance providers, and other outside partners
Support accounting operations for multiple business entities and assist ownership with financial analysis and special projects

Qualifications

5+ years of construction bookkeeping or accounting experience
Advanced QuickBooks Enterprise experience required
Experience with job costing and project accounting
Payroll processing experience
Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 skills
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

Certified payroll and prevailing wage experience
Public works or government contract experience
Multi-entity accounting experience
Insurance audit and compliance experience
