Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Cook to join our team in a nursing home setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a commitment to providing high-quality meals for our residents. As a Dietary Cook, you will play a crucial role in the dietary department, ensuring that all food preparation meets the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents in an assisted living environment.

Duties

Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
Collaborate with the dietary aide and nursing staff to ensure that resident dietary needs are met.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Assist with menu planning, taking into consideration resident preferences and nutritional requirements.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
Provide excellent customer service by responding to resident requests and feedback regarding meals.
Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of dietary practices.

Experience

Previous experience in a culinary role, preferably within the food industry or healthcare setting.
Familiarity with dietary needs specific to nursing home or assisted living environments is highly desirable.
Strong skills in food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment operation.
Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on customer service.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being able to work independently when required.
