Full Job Description

Paul J. Cooper Center for Human Services, Inc. is currently seeking a Director of Nursing (NP) to provides comprehensive clinical oversight and medical support to individuals receiving services in OPWDD-certified residential programs. This role ensures continuity of care, regulatory compliance, and high-quality health outcomes through collaboration with nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, and external medical providers. Services are delivered in compliance with OPWDD, New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), and federal CMS regulations.

Masters in science and nursing.
New York State Licensed Nurse Practitioner.
Psychiatric/Mental Health Practitioner.
Experience working in OPWDD, residential, long-term care, or community-based healthcare settings preferred
Strong knowledge of medication management, MAR review, and pharmacy coordination
Familiarity with Medicaid documentation and regulatory compliance
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and computer skills ability to exercise sound judgement and manage multiple priorities is essential.
Proficiency in Windows, Excel/Access/Power Point software programs.
Ability to be on call 24 hours day/7 days per week.
Ability to travel to multiple sites as needed.
Familiarity with Medicaid documentation and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities:

The Nurse Practitioner will stay current with Best Practices and approved standards of Medical Practice within the scope of practice defined by New York State Law. The Nurse Practitioner shall be under the supervision of the delegating Physician and will ensure the delegated Physician completes all required quarterly paperwork and submits to the Health Administration/Vice President for retention.
