Full Job Description

Our story began on January 6, 1964 in Lafayette, California with a small group of young adults, their parents and the founding Director, Helen Young. For over 60 years later, Futures continues to serve the same population now, in several counties in California. Like our founders, we can better appreciate the world and humanity through the eyes of our clients. They have intellectual and developmental disabilities, and they want to continue experiencing the world around them – much like everyone else. The participants’ overall health and wellness is our passion. Empowering and enriching their lives, is our mission.

Our GARDEN Program in Livermore is looking for Personal Wellness Support Professional/Driver who can support our participants by providing route support to and from program each day and support with activities both on site and in the community. In this role, you will work with participants who would appreciate your support in a variety of activities, including sensory stimulation and community-centered activities; based on their individual needs and desires. Participants in our GARDEN Program have various disabilities including those of Restricted Health Care needs and support with ADLs is required.

Things to know:

Must have a good driving record
This position is full-time with a weekly Monday - Friday schedule.
Employees will receive an additional $1 an hour when driving route. When not providing route, the pay is $21.63 an hour.
Direct supervisor is the Program Coordinator

Job Requirements:

At least 18 years of age.
Authorized to work in U.S.
High school diploma or 1 year or more of related work experience, preferably with a human service agency or educational organization working with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities, will be considered in lieu of the educational requirements.
Possess a valid CA driver’s license, insurable driving record, and evidence of auto insurance and willing to drive the participants either in company car or in personal vehicle (mileage will be paid).
Must be willing to drive agency vehicle's for community outings and activities as needed.
Knowledgeable of computers and software use, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and G Suite Workplace.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
LiveScan criminal record clearance (or exemption) prior to start.
Health Screening and TB Test clearance prior to start.
Physical stamina and ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform the assigned duties safely and effectively.

Great if you have:

Knowledgeable of Lanterman Act regulations, Regional Center guidelines, and State of California Licensing regulations.
Certified in First Aid/CPR/AED by a qualified instructor.
