Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Position Summary
The Associate Administrator (AA) assists the CEO, COO, and CFO in the operation and fiscal responsibility of Havenwyck Hospital (“the Hospital”). Provides recommendations to management supporting administrative and facility decisions, sets objectives, develops plans, staffs, directs activities of assigned departments/areas of responsibility, provides professional level planning, reporting, analysis and consultation to support the goals and objectives of the organization, helps manage the hospital operations. May assume administrative responsibility for the hospital in the absence of the hospital’s CEO/COO, ensure consistency of treatment and application of policy. The AA promotes Clinical Quality, Integrity, Safety, Service Excellence, Teamwork, Accountability and Continuous Improvement throughout all departments. The AA is responsible for creating a fair and open environment for all teammates. The AA shares responsibility in creating a positive culture at the hospital both internally and externally, with a strong focus on improving retention and improving reputation management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Play an active role in the development and execution of the Hospital’s strategic plan. Leads and drives improvement on OKR’s through interdisciplinary initiatives, coaching and monitoring involved leaders and departments on progress.
- Serve as an administrative representative at community meetings and events as needed. Represent the facility in a manner that conveys a professional, courteous, caring, and cooperative attitude
- Oversee specific program development opportunities to enhance behavioral health services to the community and increase the hospital’s growth margins.
- Use technology and innovative methodologies to improve the hospitals quality and service delivery optimization.
- Assist with ensuring all deficiencies identified through the Performance Improvement analysis are addressed with appropriate solution-focused actions. Support leadership team in operationalizing strategy.
- Foster internal communications by attending and participating in Town Halls, leadership meetings, hospital-wide committees, Service Excellence activities, and attending mandatory trainings/in-services as required.
- Temporarily oversee various departments as assigned during leadership vacancies. Assume all job duties/responsibilities of said Director during temporary assignment.
- Is knowledgeable of Service Excellence and Trauma Informed Care initiatives. Treats all patients/staff with dignity and respect in a consistent manner at all times. Understands the need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, families, visitors, employees, and all other contacts.

Job Requirements/Education and Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.
- Master’s Degree from an accredited College or University in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business, Social Work, Counseling or Psychology preferred.
- 1-3 years of work related experience required.
- Leadership experience in a variety of functional areas in behavioral health hospital or related setting.
- Knowledge and demonstrated competency for all regulatory and compliance agencies.
- Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to perform job functions.
- Able to articulate goals and objectives of the department. Ability to effectively present information to management, committees, staff and licensing and regulating agencies.
- Excellent written communication skills needed to prepare reports, write policies and procedures, document in patient records, prepare agenda and minutes and carry on Performance Improvement planning and monitoring.
- Problem solving, organizational, leadership, crisis resolution, staff coaching and motivational skills.
