Summary/Objective

The Staff Accountant will manage Accounts Receivable, and serve as backup for AccountsPayable (AP). They will also assist with other accounting duties, including standard month-end and year-end activities. This position is ideal for an early-career accountant who thrives in operational accounting and enjoys cross-functional responsibilities

Essential Functions

Accounts Receivable: Confirm shipments with Production Control before weekly invoicing, review invoices for pricing accuracy and proper account coding, and post incoming AR payments. Follow up on past-due balances, work with Repair and Production Control to resolve order issues or corrections, complete month-end AR reconciliations, report monthly DSO metrics, and maintain Excel records with related analysis.
Accounts Payable Support: Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, resolve billing discrepancies, and act as the primary backup for weekly payment runs.
Account Reconciliation: Monthly account reconciliations to support general ledger balances.
Journal Entries & Accruals: Prepare month-end journal entries, as needed.
Audit & Compliance: Compile supporting documentation for annual financial audits.

Required Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience, with direct exposure to AP processing or payroll administration.
Excel Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, data lookups, and formatting formulas.
Confidentiality: Absolute discretion and integrity when handling sensitive payroll and employee personal data.
Detail-Oriented: Exceptional accuracy in data entry to prevent payroll errors and duplicate vendor payments.

Performing the duties of this job will require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend, reach or stand/ walk when necessary; mostly requires sitting and working on computer/phone.
