About Golden Coast
Golden Coast Construction & Restoration is a Northern California construction and restoration company specializing in fire restoration, reconstruction, and insurance repair work. We help property owners rebuild after some of the most difficult moments they will face, and we take that responsibility seriously.
We are looking for a strong Construction Project Manager who can lead jobs, manage people, control schedules, protect margins, communicate clearly, and drive projects from start to finish. This is not a desk only role. We need someone who understands construction, knows how to lead in the field, and can keep jobs moving with urgency and accountability.
The Opportunity
Golden Coast is growing, and our project volume is increasing. We are hiring a Construction Project Manager to oversee fire restoration and reconstruction projects across the Stockton/Modesto and East Bay areas.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned Project Manager who can step in quickly, manage multiple active jobs, communicate with homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, estimators, insurance related parties, and internal team members, and take full ownership of project execution.
We are especially interested in candidates with fire restoration, insurance reconstruction, residential construction, or commercial construction experience. We may also consider a strong construction professional who is ready to grow into a PM role, but our preference is for someone who can be productive quickly.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Project Ownership
You will own assigned projects from handoff through completion. This includes understanding the scope, reviewing estimates, building the plan, managing the schedule, coordinating resources, solving problems, high level customer communication and service and making sure the job is completed properly.
You will be expected to know what is happening on your jobs, what needs attention, what is holding things up, and what the next step is at all times.
Scheduling and Coordination
You will coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field crews, suppliers, inspections, materials, and internal team members. You will be responsible for keeping projects moving and preventing avoidable delays.
This includes:
- Building and maintaining project schedules
- Coordinating labor, subs, vendors, and materials
- Managing jobsite readiness
- Following up consistently
- Removing roadblocks before they become bigger problems
- Keeping all parties aligned on next steps
Scope and Budget Management
You will review project scopes, estimates, and job requirements to make sure work is being performed correctly and on schedule.
Responsibilities include:
- Reading and understanding Xactimate scopes
- Reviewing project budgets and job costs
- Identifying missing scope, change orders, and supplements when applicable
- Protecting gross profit
- Managing labor, material, and subcontractor costs
- Communicating budget risks early
Client Communication
You will be a main point of contact for customers throughout the project. Many of our clients are dealing with fire damage and major disruption, so strong communication is critical.
You will be expected to:
- Set clear expectations
- Provide regular updates
- Communicate schedule changes
- Explain project status in plain language
- Address concerns quickly and professionally
- Represent Golden Coast with confidence and integrity
Quality Control
You will be responsible for making sure work is completed to Golden Coast standards. This includes regular site visits, quality checks, punch list management, and ensuring that subcontractors and crews are performing the work correctly.
You will need to be direct, detail-oriented, and willing to hold people accountable.
Documentation and Systems
Accurate documentation is a major part of this role. You will be expected to keep project information current and organized.
Preferred experience with:
- Buildertrend
- Xactimate scope reading
- Microsoft Office
- Docusketch
- Matterport
