Full Job Description

SUMMARY

Congressman Harder seeks an Office Manager to coordinate his Stockton office operations. Under supervision of the District Director, this entry-level role is responsible for implementing the effective, efficient, and safe functioning of the Congressman’s Stockton Office, including scheduling, intra-office and external communications, administrative procedures, and managing the intern program. The Office Manager also handles a constituent services caseload and occasionally supports various outreach activities. Salary is $50,000 - $55,000 depending on experience; benefits include full medical, retirement savings plan, and limited federal student loan repayment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Organizes and manages all District Office operations and procedures.

- Under the supervision of the District Director, manages the internship program including recruitment, and serves as the direct supervisor for all interns.

- Serves as point of contact for and manages relationships with vendors, landlords, service providers, facilities management, and related partners.

- Responsible for all District Office maintenance, purchasing, shipping, supplies, and equipment.

- Monitors all office expenditures and manages budgets as assigned.

- Maintains accurate and meticulous records for the District Office, including contracts, leases, invoices, receipts, inventories, and other administrative documents.

- Manages casework for constituents in coordination with the Constituent Services Manager.

Represents the Congressman as assigned at community events and meetings.

- Participates in the coordination of the Congressman’s district scheduling.

Under the supervision of the District Director and in coordination with the Deputy District Director, conducts outreach activities as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

- Strong candidates will have experience in government, community, or nonprofit sectors managing facilities and/or administrative processes and procedures.

- Spanish-language proficiency is highly valued as we strive to effectively serve all constituents: candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply.

- Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant, and professional manner.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
