Full Job Description

Club Manager

Location: Anytime Fitness Elk Grove
Position Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Hourly plus Commissions

Purpose

The Club Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of Anytime Fitness Elk Grove, driving P&L performance, increasing membership and personal training sales, developing the team, and creating an exceptional member experience.

This is a hands-on leadership and sales position. The Club Manager will generate and follow up with leads, conduct sales and fitness consultations, coach clients, manage employees, and ensure the club operates safely, professionally, and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader, salesperson, and fitness professional who takes ownership of the club’s performance and culture.

Key ResponsibilitiesClub Leadership and Operations

Oversee the daily operations and performance of the club.
Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and develop employees.
Establish expectations and hold team members accountable.
Lead staff meetings, training sessions, and coaching conversations.
Maintain proper staffing and compliance with company policies.
Communicate performance, staffing, maintenance, and operational concerns to ownership and regional leadership.

Membership Sales and Lead Generation

Generate leads through calls, referrals, community outreach, social media, partnerships, and in-club activity.
Respond promptly to leads and membership inquiries.
Conduct appointments, tours, and follow-up conversations.
Present and sell membership options confidently.
Maintain accurate lead records and consistent follow-up.
Achieve established lead, appointment, sales, conversion, and retention goals.

Personal Training Sales and Coaching

Conduct fitness consultations and personal training sales appointments.
Recommend training services based on each member’s goals and needs.
Design and deliver safe, personalized workout programs.
Coach clients individually and in small groups of approximately 2–12 participants.
Track client progress and update programs as needed.
Maintain accurate client records.
Help grow personal training revenue through consultations, follow-up, referrals, and exceptional service.

Member Experience and Retention

Create a welcoming, supportive, and professional club environment.
Build relationships with members and maintain a visible presence in the club.
Resolve member questions, concerns, billing issues, and service problems.
Contact inactive members and those at risk of cancelling.
Develop events, challenges, and activities that improve engagement and retention.

Facility Management and Safety

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe club.
Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Educate members on proper equipment use and exercise technique.
Enforce club rules and safety policies.
Ensure employees understand emergency and incident-reporting procedures.

Administrative Responsibilities

Monitor and report key performance indicators, including:
Leads and appointments
Membership sales
Personal training sales
Cancellations and retention
Club revenue and P&L performance
Complete reports, administrative duties, and account updates accurately and on time.
Maintain reliable attendance and professional communication.
Protect confidential member, employee, and company information.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years of experience in fitness, sales, management, customer service, or a related leadership role.
Experience managing employees and holding a team accountable for results.
Proven ability to generate leads, conduct sales appointments, follow up, and close sales.
Nationally recognized personal training certification, such as NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent.
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
Strong leadership, sales, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle member and employee concerns professionally.
Comfortable using email, scheduling software, basic computer programs, and customer-management systems.
Ability to work flexible hours, including some mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Physical Requirements

Ability to demonstrate exercises and safely coach clients.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the club.
Ability to lift and move fitness equipment or supplies when reasonably necessary.
Ability to respond appropriately during a club emergency.

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
