Full Job Description

MARCHESA is seeking a highly skilled Freelance Pattern Maker. This is a unique opportunity for an exceptionally experienced professional to collaborate on Couture, Eveningwear, Bridal, high-end luxury VIP and Red Carpet looks. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in Couture, custom garments, tailoring, corsetry, and complex silhouette development, including sculptural, Grecian, and avant-garde draping, ideally with experience at leading luxury fashion houses, designer brands, or couture ateliers.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 8–10 years of professional pattern making, tailoring, or couture garment experience in luxury fashion environments
Extensive experience in luxury fashion, couture, designer collections and VIP, Red Carpet + Special Order Dresses
Expert-level draping, flat patternmaking, and garment engineering skills
Advanced understanding of tailoring, fit, balance, proportion, and complex garment structures, including structured garments (e.g., corsets, bustiers, structured bodices, eveningwear, sculptural silhouettes)
Ability to translate creative concepts and fashion sketches into functional, immaculate, production-ready patterns and prototypes that are flawless in fit, balance, and construction
Experience conducting fittings, managing alterations, and executing pattern corrections independently
Advanced knowledge of luxury fabrics, couture construction techniques, hand-finishing, and advanced hand sewing techniques, as well as garment embellishments such as 3D details and intricate embroideries
Proficiency in Gerber, understanding of CLO 3D, Browzwear or similar would be a plus
Highly organized, detail-oriented, committed to rigorous quality control, collaborative team player with strong problem-solving skills, and a positive, can-do attitude; experienced in atelier operations and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented atelier environment
Pattern Making degree preferred

Initial focus on 4-6 Couture Looks
Part-Time in person 1-2 days
