Full Job Description

The Gourmet Factory is a leading family-run business and a direct source packer of edible oils and olives. We take pride in our employees and the dedication they bring to the company. We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Warehouse Sanitation to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment by cleaning equipment, removing waste, and preparing production areas for the next shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean, scrub, scrape, and wash production equipment to maintain sanitary conditions.
Disassemble and clean production equipment according to sanitation procedures.
Prepare machinery and production areas for the next shift.
Sweep, mop, clean, and sanitize floors throughout the facility.
Remove plant waste and trash in a timely manner.
Operate and control high-pressure hoses and pressure-washing equipment.
Learn and perform proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures for packaging equipment.
Learn to operate floor scrubbers and other sanitation equipment.
Follow all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
Adhere to sanitation dress code requirements and maintain good personal hygiene.
Participate in ongoing departmental training and development.
Participate in mandatory weekly deep-cleaning and sanitation operations.
Maintain awareness of workplace hazards, including wet and slippery surfaces.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Perform all assigned duties in accordance with company policies, specifications, and safety requirements.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be able to speak English.
Previous sanitation, warehouse, manufacturing, or food production experience preferred but not required.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Must have a flexible schedule, including availability to work overtime as needed.
Must be able to work flexible shift hours and remain on duty until assigned tasks are completed.

Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
Ability to safely control high-pressure hoses and sanitation equipment.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to safely lift loads of 50 pounds or more when required.
Ability to handle sanitation chemicals safely and according to established procedures.
Ability to work in wet environments and around production equipment.
