Our Resident Services Coordinator position provides an opportunity to work in a mission-driven organization where your continuous work efforts are contributing to the greater good of the community. In this position, an effective communicator will work with low-income tenants to provide encouragement and assistance in improving self-sufficiency and wellness. A working knowledge of local resources will be a boon as you support tenants in our USDA Rural Development properties.
At Housing Opportunities of SW Washington (HOSWWA) we work closely with local government and community partners throughout Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Lewis, and Pacific counties to address issues of affordable housing and homelessness and to help families break the cycle of poverty. We provide affordable housing and housing assistance to low-income residents within our service area. The Property Manager provides services to the agency through a variety of duties associated with on-site management.
Your skills and experience will support our mission as you:
- Engage residents to collaboratively develop goals to support their housing stability, mental health, health, education, income, employment, and other priority areas.
- Support residents by facilitating effective connections to community services and resources.
- Network effectively with supportive agencies that provide programs or services that further family and/or individual self-sufficiency.
- Guide clients through the process of application, qualification, re-determination for SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, and other services as needed.
- Provide support to participants in job search activities and techniques.
- Maintain HOSWWA standards of client files and records.
- Represent HOSWWA at professional meetings, community events, and to members of the community.
- Occasionally conduct visits to client’s homes.
Pay and Benefits
- The full pay range is $21.13 – $25.23 / hour. Compensation for the position is negotiable, depending on the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate. Applicants should not expect to start in the highest range of this salary.
- HOSWWA offers employees and their eligible family members the option to enroll in medical, dental, vision, and/or supplemental life insurance. Employees are also covered by Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment and Long-Term Disability insurance.
- All HOSWWA employees are members of the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) administered by the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS). Employees may also contribute funds to Deferred Compensation Program (DCP), a supplemental retirement savings plan run by the DRS.
- Employees receive 14 paid holidays per year, paid sick leave accrual at a rate of 8 hours per month, and, following 90 days’ orientation, paid annual leave starting at 40 hours per year.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Preference for two or more years of related experience or work with low-income residents.
- Demonstrated computer skills necessary to effectively complete duties.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with tenants from a variety of backgrounds, representatives of cooperating agencies, and HOSWWA staff.
- Must adhere to professional boundaries and ethics.
- Ability to advocate equitably for each participant, facilitate interactions with other professionals and coordinate positive opportunities
