Job Posting: Medical Assistant

Location: Longview, Texas

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: Competitive (commensurate with experience) plus mileage

About Us:

We are a Nephrology medical practice committed to delivering exceptional, patient-focused kidney care. We foster a collaborative and professional environment where patients and team members thrive.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Medical Assistant to oversee the daily operations, schedule patient's appointments. Oversee the New Patient Referrals spreadsheet daily, maintain the fax queue through out the day, answer all phone calls and take messages.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients upon arrival and assist with check in- and check out process.
Schedule and confirm patients appointments.
Collect and verify patients information, including insurance details, pharmacy details, emergency contact listed on file.
Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care plans, next scheduled appointments.
Collaborate with the provider to ensure timely communication of patient needs.
Maintain all phone calls and messages.
Collect co-pays and any outstanding balances that are listed on patients account.
Prepares room assignments for patients and physicians according to department policies and procedures to always ensure maximum efficiency of staff and equipment
Conducts patient registration in a manner that assures confidentiality with information such as name, address, age, sex, color of eyes, distinguishing marks and insurance information being used only by authorized personnel
General front desk duties are included.

Qualifications:

General knowledge of insurance verification
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a dynamic healthcare environment.
