Full Job Description

We have an immediate opening for a full-time, Cost Accountant

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Starting rate: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 / yr.

Apex Paper Box Company, a leading manufacturer of stock and custom paperboard packaging, is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. This position plays a key role in preparing accurate product cost estimates, maintaining inventory costing and supporting sales and manufacturing with timely pricing information.

Major Cost Accountant Responsibilities:

Prepare cost estimates and quotations for stock and custom paper boxes.
Calculate material, labor, overhead, freight and outside processing costs.
Maintain and update inventory costs for raw materials and finished goods.
Analyze manufacturing methods and recommend cost-effective solutions.
Work closely with Sales, Purchasing, Production and Customer Service to ensure accurate pricing.
Review actual manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost improvement.
Assist with special costing projects and customer pricing analyses.

Cost Accountant Qualifications:

Experience in estimating, costing, manufacturing or pricing preferably in packaging, printing or a related industry.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Cost Accountant Qualifications:

Experience with paperboard packaging, printing or converting operations.
Knowledge of inventory valuation and standard costing.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
