Assistant Property Manager

Job Overview

Join a dynamic property management team as an Assistant Property Manager, where you'll lead the day-to-day operations of select portfolios and larger multifamily properties. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee property maintenance, leasing, financial management, and team leadership, all while maintaining compliance with housing regulations and fostering positive client relationships. Your energetic approach will drive property success and elevate resident satisfaction in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of property operations, including leasing, rent collection, maintenance, and tenant relations
Manage property budgets, financial reporting, and expense control to maximize profitability
Supervise and mentor any onsite employees to ensure high performance and excellent customer service
Maintain compliance with Fair Housing regulations, landlord-tenant laws, Section 8 policies, and other legal standards
Utilize property management tools such as Buildium for data entry, lease management, and reporting
Coordinate property maintenance and facilities management to ensure safety and operational efficiency
Handle conflict management issues professionally, resolving tenant disputes or lease violations effectively

Skills

Experience in property management
Experience in property management software such as Appfolio or Buildium
Knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 housing policies, and contracts management
Excellent customer service skills with effective client communication and phone etiquette
Skilled in negotiation, upselling rental units or amenities, and lease or rental agreement management
Expertise in Microsoft Office products
Ability to manage property maintenance issues promptly while ensuring compliance with safety standards
Experience in facilities management and conflict resolution to foster positive tenant relationships
