Full Job Description

Neurology Physician Assistant (PA-C) – Outpatient Neurology & Procedural Care

Location: San Jose, CA
Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time (2–5 days/week)
Employment Type: W-2 Preferred (Independent Contractor arrangements may be considered for qualified candidates, as appropriate)
Compensation: $80,000–$120,000 per year, based on experience, schedule, productivity, and procedural experience + performance incentives

About Us

HA Brain & Spine Center is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a background in Neurology to join our growing outpatient neurology and integrative medical practice.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a PA-C who enjoys building long-term patient relationships while developing advanced skills in headache medicine, concussion care, outpatient neurology, and minimally invasive neurological procedures.

We are particularly interested in a provider who has a strong foundation in Neurology and is enthusiastic about expanding their procedural skills.

Prior experience with injections is preferred, but we are willing to provide training and mentorship for the right candidate.

This is an outpatient-only position with:

No hospital rounding
No inpatient responsibilities
No call
No weekends
No nights

Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant will evaluate and manage patients with a variety of neurological conditions, including:

Chronic migraine
Headache disorders
Concussion and traumatic brain injury
Dizziness and vestibular disorders
Neuropathy
Radiculopathy
Memory concerns
Movement disorders
Spine-related neurological conditions
General neurological conditions

Clinical responsibilities include:

Performing comprehensive neurological examinations
Obtaining and reviewing patient histories
Developing individualized treatment plans
Medication management
Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic testing
Reviewing MRI, CT, EMG, EEG, and laboratory studies
Patient education and counseling
Coordinating appropriate referrals and multidisciplinary care
Providing ongoing follow-up and treatment management
Telemedicine visits when appropriate
Maintaining accurate and timely medical documentation

Procedural Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will either have experience with, or be willing to receive training in, outpatient neurological procedures including:

Chronic Migraine Botox injections (PREEMPT protocol)
Occipital nerve blocks
Peripheral nerve blocks
Trigger point injections
Other outpatient headache and neurology procedures

Previous procedural experience is a strong plus but is not required.

We are looking for a PA-C who is comfortable learning procedures and is interested in developing a strong procedural skill set under appropriate physician mentorship and supervision.

Qualifications – Required

Active California Physician Assistant license
Current PA-C certification
Board certified/eligible as applicable
Prior clinical experience in Neurology is required
DEA Registration or ability to obtain
Strong neurological assessment and clinical reasoning skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong clinical judgment and professionalism
Comfortable working with an electronic medical record (EMR)
Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary providers

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:

Neurology
Headache Medicine
Migraine Management
Pain Management
PM&R
Neurosurgery
Spine Care
Rehabilitation Medicine

Additional experience with:

Botox
Nerve blocks
Trigger point injections
Other outpatient injections or procedural care

is a significant plus.

Candidates with strong Neurology experience who are eager to develop procedural skills are encouraged to apply.
