West Hollywood Breakfast Company is a vibrant, high-energy breakfast and brunch destination dedicated to creating memorable experiences through exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and a culture that celebrates teamwork and accountability. We're seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee both Front of House and Kitchen operations and lead our team to deliver outstanding guest experiences every day.

Position Summary

The General Manager is the leader of the restaurant and is responsible for the overall success of the business. This role oversees all Front of House and Back of House operations, including guest experience, kitchen performance, financial results, team development, food quality, labor management, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads from the floor, and can seamlessly balance hospitality, culinary excellence, and profitability.

This position requires an active leader who is equally comfortable coaching servers on guest engagement, mentoring kitchen leaders, reviewing financials, and jumping into service when needed.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development

Lead, inspire, and develop all restaurant managers and hourly team members.
Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, hospitality, and respect.
Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard exceptional talent for both FOH and BOH.
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
Develop future leaders and create a strong internal talent pipeline.
Hold team members accountable to performance, attendance, and behavioral expectations.

Front of House Operations

Lead by example and maintain a strong floor presence during peak business hours.
Ensure exceptional guest service standards are executed consistently.
Monitor wait times, table turns, and service flow to maximize guest satisfaction.
Personally engage with guests and resolve concerns quickly and professionally.
Train and coach managers and team members on hospitality, communication, and service recovery.
Ensure compliance with all company standards and operating procedures.

Kitchen & Culinary Operations

Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring consistent food quality and presentation.
Partner with Kitchen Manager to maintain smooth daily operations and efficient execution.
Monitor ticket times and kitchen workflows to ensure timely service.
Ensure recipes, portions, and plating standards are consistently followed.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
Oversee inventory, ordering, receiving, and vendor relationships.
Minimize waste and drive food cost performance through effective systems and accountability.

Financial Management

Own the restaurant's financial performance and profitability.
Review and analyze P&L statements regularly.
Manage labor budgets for both Front and Back of House teams.
Monitor and control food cost, labor cost, and other controllable expenses.
Create schedules that balance operational needs with labor goals.
Drive sales growth while maintaining exceptional guest and employee experiences.

Operational Excellence

Ensure all opening, shift, and closing procedures are completed consistently.
Maintain compliance with all health department, labor law, and company standards.
Oversee preventative maintenance and facility upkeep.
Ensure all systems, checklists, and operational procedures are followed daily.
Create an organized and efficient environment where teams can perform at a high level.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of restaurant management experience, including General Manager or comparable leadership roles.
Experience overseeing both Front of House and Back of House operations.
Proven success in a high-volume, full-service restaurant environment.
Strong understanding of:
P&L management
Labor forecasting and scheduling
Food and beverage cost controls
Inventory management
Food safety and sanitation
California labor laws
Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
Strong communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
Ability to remain calm, organized, and decisive in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible schedule with availability to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Frequent bending, reaching, and moving throughout all areas of the restaurant.
Ability to work in a hot, busy, and fast-paced environment.
