Scoot Education partners with public schools across the area for their staffing needs. We have opportunities for experienced individuals eager to fill the critical role of Prelicensed Therapist in schools across Los Angeles.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, required
Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, School Psychology or related discipline, required
Active registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) (1) Associate Clinical Social Worker, (2) Associate Marriage and Family Therapist or (3) Associate Professional Clinical Counselor

What you’ll do:

Build rapport and therapeutic relationships with students on caseload, providing individual counseling to support progress toward social, emotional, behavioral, and academic goals.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with BBS, state, and federal regulations, including mandated reporting requirements and associate registration standards.
Provide individual and crisis counseling within scope of practice, including risk assessment, safety planning, and referrals, under clinical supervision as required.
Communicate consistently and professionally with school administration and multidisciplinary staff regarding student goals, progress, and clinical needs, with appropriate consultation.
Partner with families and school staff to identify, understand, and connect students to relevant community-based and external supports.
Participate actively in individual and group supervision to collaborate with colleagues, gain multiple clinical perspectives, and thoughtfully process clinical dynamics, including countertransference and professional development needs.
Contribute to IEP programming by supporting the development and monitoring of mental health/social-emotional goals, attending IEP meetings, and documenting progress within designated IEP systems, under supervision.
