Clinical Consultant

Open Arms Community Health & Service Center is seeking an experienced Clinical Consultant to provide expert clinical guidance across our growing healthcare programs. This role is ideal for a seasoned healthcare professional who enjoys mentoring clinical teams, strengthening quality standards, solving complex operational challenges, and helping organizations deliver exceptional patient care.

Working alongside executive leadership, medical providers, nursing staff, behavioral health professionals, and program managers, you'll play an integral role in shaping clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building sustainable healthcare programs that serve our community with excellence.

Job Overview

The Clinical Consultant serves as a trusted clinical advisor to organizational leadership and healthcare teams. This position provides consultation, oversight, education, and strategic guidance that supports high-quality clinical services across multiple programs. The consultant works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical practice, improve quality outcomes, support compliance initiatives, and help develop systems that allow our staff to provide exceptional care.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical consultation and guidance to leadership and healthcare staff.

Support the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and best practices.

Review clinical documentation and workflows to promote quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, behavioral health professionals, program managers, and case management teams to improve clinical operations.

Assist with quality assurance, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives.

Provide education, coaching, and mentorship to clinical personnel.

Evaluate existing clinical processes and recommend evidence-based improvements.

Participate in program development, audits, accreditation readiness, and organizational initiatives.

Stay current on healthcare regulations, clinical guidelines, and emerging best practices.

Qualifications

Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license or higher clinical licensure required.

Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field preferred.

Minimum three years of progressive clinical experience in healthcare, community health, primary care, behavioral health, recuperative care, or related settings.

Experience in clinical leadership, quality improvement, compliance, or healthcare program development preferred.

Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, clinical documentation, patient safety, and quality standards.

Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.

Experience using electronic health record systems.

Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation preferred.
