Full Job Description

Join an Innovative Imaging Startup

VisiFit is a newly established body composition and imaging company located within the future home of the Precision Wellness Center in Santa Monica.

We are seeking an experienced DEXA Technologist to help us launch imaging operations using a Hologic A DEXA imaging system. Initially, VisiFit will provide body composition and bone mineral density assessments for physicians, healthcare professionals, wellness clients, and clinical research studies.

Over the coming months, the Precision Wellness Center will be developed alongside VisiFit, creating an innovative environment focused on advanced diagnostics, wellness, and clinical research. VisiFit will serve as the imaging cornerstone of this larger initiative while continuing to provide DEXA services to outside physicians, researchers, fitness professionals, and individual clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technologist who enjoys working in a boutique, patient-centered environment and would like to be part of launching an exciting new imaging practice from its earliest stages. You will help establish day-to-day imaging operations, complete manufacturer training on our new Hologic system as needed and become VisiFit's primary DEXA technologist as the practice grows.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, personable, and detail-oriented Part-Time DEXA Technologist to perform high-quality DEXA imaging using our new Hologic imaging system.

This position is dedicated to performing accurate, reproducible DEXA examinations while delivering exceptional client experience. Your primary responsibilities will focus on imaging, patient care, equipment quality control, and helping establish the daily operations of a growing imaging practice.

Schedule

Part-Time
Initially approximately 8–16 hours per week
Flexible scheduling based on client appointments
Opportunity to increase hours as VisiFit and the Precision Wellness Center grow

Compensation

$35–45 per hour, depending on experience (DOE).

Primary Responsibilities

Perform high-quality DEXA examinations, including body composition and bone mineral density studies
Prepare and position clients according to standardized imaging protocols
Explain imaging procedures and ensure a welcoming, comfortable client experience
Perform daily equipment quality control and calibration
Review studies for technical quality and accuracy
Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation
Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
Coordinate scheduling with clinic staff
Maintain a clean, organized imaging suite
Assist with general office operations, including welcoming clients, answering phones, opening and closing the office, and other light administrative support as needed

Qualifications

Required

Current California credential permitting operation of DEXA equipment
Three or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist with experience performing DEXA examinations
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to standardized imaging protocols
Comfortable using electronic medical records and scheduling systems
Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

Preferred

Experience operating Hologic DEXA systems
Experience performing both body composition and bone mineral density examinations
Experience in outpatient imaging, wellness, preventive medicine, endocrinology, sports medicine, or research settings
Experience with DEXA quality assurance and equipment calibration
