POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team and support the Commonwealth of Virginia’s correctional programs. This role is integral to providing offenders with meaningful work opportunities, helping them gain skills for successful re-entry into society. The position focuses on receiving, auditing, preparing, and scanning documents with precision and efficiency. This full-time starts at per $18 per hour and is located in Troy, VA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Receive and organize documents for auditing and scanning.
Perform quality checks to ensure document accuracy and completeness.
Prepare documents for scanning by removing staples, clips, and other bindings.
Operate scanning equipment to digitize documents efficiently and accurately.
Maintain proper documentation of scanned files and ensure they are correctly archived.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with scanning software or equipment.
Adhere to established procedures and deadlines to meet productivity goals.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project updates and challenges.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring the safety and security of documents.
Assist with additional administrative tasks as needed.
Efficiently performs duties as assigned and works as a team within the division and company.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong planning, organizational, and record-keeping abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently under deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Ability to work collaboratively.
Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action.
Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
An ability to effectively communicate to large and small group audiences.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong planning, organizing, and record-keeping skills.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times.
Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
