Licensed Home Inspector / Master Inspector
HomeTeam Inspection Service of Kentuckiana and the Bluegrass
Full-Time Employee Position
Expected First-Year Earnings: $65,000–$85,000
HomeTeam Inspection Service is seeking a licensed home inspector to join our growing team and help lead team-based residential inspections throughout the greater Louisville metro and Southern Indiana area.
This is a unique opportunity for an inspector who enjoys the technical side of the profession but does not want the burden of marketing, selling, or generating inspection appointments. HomeTeam provides the inspection volume, scheduling, administrative support, vehicle, equipment, technology, and established systems. Your focus is performing excellent inspections and communicating findings clearly and professionally.
We expect to hire one inspector immediately and a second inspector in the near term as we continue expanding our services.
About HomeTeam
HomeTeam Inspection Service of Kentuckiana and the Bluegrass is the largest HomeTeam franchise in North America and the official Inspection Partner of the Greater Louisville Association of REALTORS®.
Our full-time inspectors average more than 500 inspections per year and work through a proven team-based inspection model rather than operating alone.
We are continuing to grow throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana, creating an opportunity for the right inspector to grow with us. Team members gain extensive field experience, work alongside accomplished inspectors, expand their technical knowledge, and develop the skills needed to lead team-based inspections.
Our culture is built around professionalism, teamwork, technical excellence, and calm, factual communication. We educate clients without alarming them and help them clearly understand the condition of the property they are purchasing.
We are looking for an inspector who wants more than another inspection assignment—someone seeking the experience, support, and career opportunities that come from joining an established and growing professional team.
Position Responsibilities
The inspector will:
- Perform residential inspections throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
- Work as part of a team-based inspection process.
- Lead inspection teams once training and demonstrated readiness are complete.
- Inspect and document the major systems and components of residential properties.
- Communicate findings clearly to clients and real estate professionals.
- Complete accurate, professional inspection reports within company timelines.
- Maintain company-provided equipment, technology, and vehicle.
- Participate in continuing education and technical training.
HomeTeam also provides radon testing, mold assessments and testing, environmental services, and commercial inspections. Experience in these areas is beneficial but not required.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold a current home inspector license in either Kentucky or Indiana.
- Be willing and eligible to obtain a home inspector license in the other state.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Be able to safely access roofs, attics, crawlspaces, basements, and mechanical areas.
- Demonstrate strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Be dependable, professional, organized, and comfortable working as part of a team.
The ideal candidate will already hold home inspector licenses in both Kentucky and Indiana, but dual licensing is not required at the time of application.
There is no formal minimum number of years of experience. Applicants will be evaluated based on their inspection experience, technical knowledge, professionalism, communication skills, and ability to learn the HomeTeam inspection model.
Veterans are encouraged to apply.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time employee position, not an independent-contractor opportunity.
Compensation is based on completed inspections, with additional pay for qualified ancillary services.
Expected first-year earnings are $65,000–$85,000, depending on inspection volume, qualifications, licensing, and participation in ancillary services.
The position includes:
- Company-maintained vehicle and fuel
- Inspection equipment and tools
- Company-provided laptop and technology
- Company-provided uniforms
- Paid time off
- Company-paid continuing education
- Company-paid licensing and renewals
- Administrative and scheduling support
- Established inspection volume
- Primarily Monday-through-Friday scheduling
Work Location and Schedule
This is a remote field position. The inspector will generally begin the workday from home and travel directly to scheduled inspections throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
The schedule is almost always Monday through Friday, although occasional adjustments may be required based on inspection volume, training, or client needs.
Why This Position Is Different
HomeTeam inspectors are not expected to market, prospect, upsell, or generate their own inspection appointments. This allows our inspectors to concentrate on technical work, professional communication, and client service.
This position may be especially attractive to a solo inspector who wants greater inspection volume, broader experience, reliable support, and the opportunity to work with an established team without carrying the administrative and sales demands of operating an independent inspection business.
How to Apply
Please submit:
- A current résumé outlining your inspection and related professional experience.
- A brief cover letter explaining your interest in the position and the HomeTeam team-based inspection model.
Please include all current licenses, certifications, and relevant inspection experience.
