OVERVIEW
Awakened Foods is seeking a highly organized Manufacturing Operations Coordinator to support our growing food-manufacturing operation. This position will help maintain the flow of production information, work orders, inventory records, product specifications, shipping documentation, and operating supplies across the organization.
This is an on-site, hands-on coordination role for someone who is comfortable working with spreadsheets, manufacturing software, production records, and multiple departments. The Manufacturing Operations Coordinator will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager, Plant Manager, R&D, Production, and other team members to ensure information is accurate, documentation is complete, and daily operating needs are addressed.
JOB DUTIES
- Create and distribute work-order assembly packets and supporting documentation to the production floor using Google Sheets and company systems.
- Review completed production documentation and close finished work-order assemblies accurately and promptly.
- Generate raw-material usage, yield, variance, and waste reports after assemblies are completed.
- Identify incomplete, inconsistent, or unusual production information and follow up with the appropriate team member before closing work orders.
- Enter and maintain accurate inventory, item, assembly, and production information in the company’s ERP system.
- Assist R&D and the Plant Manager with creating, updating, formatting, and organizing digital product specification files.
- Maintain document organization and version control for approved product specifications, production forms, work instructions, and related operating records.
- Assist with the preparation of bills of materials, item records, assembly details, and other manufacturing-system information under the direction of the appropriate manager.
- Support inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and investigation of material-usage or inventory variances as requested.
- Assist the Shipping Manager with freight bookings, bills of lading, shipping paperwork, delivery records, and related communications.
- Order approved consumables and operating supplies and maintain accurate records of quantities, usage, reorder points, and deliveries.
- Prepare routine production, inventory, waste, shipping, and operating reports for company leadership.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper records in accordance with company procedures and applicable food-safety and recordkeeping requirements.
- Provide general office administration, data entry, document preparation, filing, meeting support, and other operational assistance.
- Work across departments to resolve routine documentation and data issues and escalate significant discrepancies to the appropriate manager.
- Perform other administrative and operations-support responsibilities as the company continues to grow.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two or more years of experience in manufacturing administration, production coordination, inventory control, shipping, purchasing, office administration, or a related field.
- Experience in food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, warehousing, distribution, or another production environment is preferred.
- Experience using an ERP, MRP, inventory-management, or manufacturing-management system.
- Strong proficiency with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, including formulas, filters, sorting, and report preparation.
- Experience creating work orders, maintaining item or assembly records, processing inventory transactions, or preparing shipping documentation is preferred.
- Excellent accuracy, organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate routine issues, and obtain missing information before completing transactions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Ability to manage recurring deadlines and changing priorities in a growing, fast-paced manufacturing business.
- Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential, proprietary, customer, product, or financial information.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred but not required when supported by relevant experience.
POSITION EXPECTATIONS
- This is a full-time, on-site position.
- The role will primarily work during normal business hours but may occasionally need schedule flexibility to support production, inventory, or shipping requirements.
- The successful candidate will be comfortable dividing time between office responsibilities, production-floor communication, inventory areas, and shipping activities.
- This is a full-time, hourly, nonexempt position and is eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable law. All working time must be accurately recorded.
