Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable part-time Bookkeeper to manage the Association's day-to-day financial recordkeeping. This position is responsible for routine bookkeeping functions, maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank accounts, and supporting the monthly close process.

This role works closely with the Association's outsourced Controller, who provides financial oversight, prepares financial statements, and manages higher-level accounting functions. The Bookkeeper ensures that financial records are accurate, organized, and current.

Essential Responsibilities

Record financial transactions in QuickBooks
Process accounts payable
Record member payments, event revenue, sponsorship payments, and other deposits in QuickBooks
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a weekly basis
Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities
Maintain organized electronic and paper financial records
Prepare reports and supporting schedules for the outsourced Controller
Process employee expense reimbursements
Coordinate with payroll provider to ensure accurate payroll reporting and benefit deductions
Monitor cash balances, provide monthly cashflow reports, and notify leadership of any issues
Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures
Assist with other administrative and financial projects as assigned

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (Online preferred)
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Experience with nonprofit or association accounting is a plus
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with an outside Controller

Preferred Experience

QuickBooks certification or equivalent experience
Experience with membership management software (GrowthZone experience is a plus)
Familiarity with event-based accounting and sponsorship revenue
Experience working with outside CPAs or Controllers

Compensation

$24.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Approximately 20 hours per week
Flexible work schedule (some in-office work required)

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
