Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accounting Assistant with proven HOA/community association experience to join our team. Based on-site within the community, this role will process all accounting related functions on behalf of the association and work closely with leadership. 55k-80k DOE

The ideal candidate is a highly organized multitasker with strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience, excellent problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of HOA accounting practices and GAAP. Duties will include but not be limited to:

Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Provide resident account support and resolve billing/account inquiries
Maintain positive vendor relationships and coordinate vendor communications
Administer payroll and support payroll-related functions
Assist with financial reporting and recordkeeping
Perform general office and administrative duties
Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance in all financial and administrative tasks
Utilize accounting software to maintain accurate financial records
Prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Deliver exceptional customer service to residents, vendors, and team members
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Support day-to-day operations to ensure efficient office and financial management

Experience

Proven experience in HOA accounting or property management finance roles is essential
3-5 years of accounting experience, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Strong background in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, or public accounting environments preferred
Knowledge of accounting principles, AP/AR processes, and payroll administration.
Strong customer service, communication, and vendor relations skills.
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
Experience with Vantaca, Jonas, MindBody, HOAi, or similar software preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel
Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping
Experience handling accounts payable/receivable management along with bookkeeping responsibilities is highly valued
Accounting assessment may be required during the hiring process.
