POSITION PURPOSE: The HR assistant supports the HR department in its efforts to attract, retain, and develop a high-performing workforce while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The HR Assistant provides support services with the day-to-day administrative tasks of the HR department, includes assisting with various tasks related to recruitment, employee relations, training, and administrative functions.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time, Non Exempt

PAY: $15.86, Non-Exempt

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain HR department files, both electronic and physical, in an organized manner.
Coordinate and schedule training sessions, meetings and interviews on behalf of the HR Director.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Support the HR Director in preparing and delivering presentations for organizational meetings (e.g., Home Team meetings, morning hurdles, training sessions), including creating slides, compiling data, and organizing talking points.
Serve as the first point of contact for the Human Resources Department by answering incoming calls and professionally greeting and assisting new hires, employees, and other visitors.

JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of one year of experience in an assistant role (preferred).
Demonstrates strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Proficient in Canva
Maintains guest relations and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

Full Job Description

General Qualifications for All Employees of The Children’s Home of Lubbock:

Must be 21 years of age per licensing standards.
Be able to read, write and communicate with co-workers, medical personnel and other persons necessary to care for the young adult’s needs.
Have a Valid Texas Driver’s License.
Exhibit behavior and health status that does not present a danger to young adult in care.
Meet the requirements of licensing standards in regards to a criminal background check.
Be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks.
Commit to the seven values of Sanctuary: Non-Violence, Emotional Intelligence, Social Learning, Democracy, Open Communication, Social Responsibility, and Growth and Change.
Complete a notarized Licensing Affidavit for Applicants for Employment

Applicants must submit the last five years of employment history.
