Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Tax Accountant and become a vital contributor to our financial success! In this energetic role, you will lead comprehensive tax planning, ensure strict compliance with tax laws, and prepare accurate tax returns. Your expertise will support strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis and reporting. We are looking for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong technical accounting skills, and is eager to make an impact through meticulous tax management and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships with precision and attention to detail.
Conduct complex tax research to interpret current tax laws, regulations, and rulings, ensuring full compliance across all filings.
Assist in estate planning activities by advising on wills, trusts, estate law, and related tax implications.
Support regulatory compliance accounting initiatives including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audits.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on mergers & acquisitions, financial reporting, and corporate restructuring projects.
Reconcile general ledger accounts related to tax provisions and ensure accuracy in financial statements following GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Utilize advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, or specialized financial software to streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy.

Experience

Proven accounting experience with a focus on tax compliance, corporate tax expertise, or public accounting roles.
Strong understanding of tax law, including individual tax regulations, securities law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and other relevant statutes.
Demonstrated ability in financial analysis, financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and balance sheet reconciliation.
Familiarity with technical accounting standards such as GAAP and regulatory compliance accounting practices.
Experience with auditing procedures, double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation.
Knowledge of financial concepts including asset management, budgeting, payroll processing, and investment analysis.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly and effectively.
