Position Summary

The Retail Division Manager is responsible for leading the performance, growth, and operational excellence of the company's retail division across all irrigation and agricultural supply locations. This role provides strategic leadership to retail operations, ensuring consistent execution, profitability, customer satisfaction, and alignment with company objectives.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Retail Division Manager provides leadership, guidance, and accountability across all retail locations. This position requires regular travel to retail branches to evaluate performance, support teams, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure operational consistency.

The Retail Division Manager works closely with Store Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Outside Sales teams, Operations, and Service departments to maximize revenue opportunities, expand customer relationships, and position the retail division as a standalone growth engine for the company.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Division Leadership

Lead and support the overall performance of the retail division.
Establish and maintain consistent operating standards, policies, and procedures across all retail locations.
Conduct regular store visits to evaluate operations, sales performance, inventory management, and customer service.
Drive accountability for execution, profitability, and operational excellence throughout the division.
Partner with Store Managers to implement company initiatives and achieve operational objectives.

Sales Growth and Business Development

Develop and execute strategies to increase retail revenue, market share, and profitability.
Partner with Regional Sales Managers and Outside Sales teams to identify and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities.
Support stores in developing local sales initiatives and strengthening key customer relationships.
Identify opportunities to expand product offerings, services, and market presence.
Promote retail locations as primary destinations for agricultural and irrigation solutions.

Financial Performance and Accountability

Monitor and manage division performance against established financial goals and key performance indicators.
Analyze sales, margins, inventory turns, and profitability to identify improvement opportunities.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
Ensure store leadership understands and executes against financial objectives and operational targets.
Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.

Team Development and Leadership

Partner with Store Managers and retail leadership teams to strengthen performance, accountability, and operational excellence.
Support leadership development, training initiatives, and succession planning across the retail division.
Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Promote consistent onboarding, training, and performance management practices throughout the retail division.

Inventory and Operational Excellence

Ensure effective inventory management and product availability across all retail locations.
Align inventory strategies with customer demand, seasonal requirements, and sales objectives.
Improve operational processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resources.
Maintain high standards for safety, facility appearance, merchandising, and operational compliance.

Customer Experience and Market Presence

Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained throughout the retail division.
Support resolution of significant customer concerns and strengthen key account relationships.
Enhance the division’s reputation and visibility within the agricultural and irrigation markets.
Develop initiatives that improve customer retention, loyalty, and overall satisfaction.

Qualifications

7+ years of leadership experience in retail, agriculture, irrigation, distribution, or a related industry.
Multi-location management experience preferred.
Strong understanding of retail operations, sales management, inventory control, and financial performance metrics.
Demonstrated ability to influence teams, develop leaders, and drive organizational growth.
Experience working cross-functionally with sales, operations, and service departments.
Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly between retail locations.

Travel Requirement: Frequent travel to retail locations throughout the operating region is required to support store performance, team development, customer engagement, and operational consistency.
