Job Overview
Join our compassionate team as a Part Time Med Passer, providing vital medication assistance during morning and evening shifts! This energetic role is perfect for dedicated individuals eager to make a positive impact on residents’ lives. As a Med Passer, you will play a key part in ensuring residents receive their medications safely and on time, supporting their health and well-being in a nurturing environment. This position offers flexible hours, meaningful work, and the opportunity to develop your skills in patient care, medication administration, and assisted living support.

Duties

Safely administer medications to residents following prescribed instructions and care plans
Observe and monitor residents’ responses to medications, reporting any adverse effects or concerns
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including grooming, hygiene, and mobility support
Maintain accurate medication records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies
Support residents with meal preparation and light cleaning to promote a clean, safe environment
Use proper techniques such as the Hoyer lift for resident transfers when necessary
Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure comprehensive resident care during shifts

Skills

Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient observation techniques
Experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings
Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice support
Ability to perform vital signs monitoring and assist with ADLs effectively
Strong communication skills for working with residents with developmental disabilities or autism
Basic first aid and CPR certification required; additional certifications preferred (e.g., HIPAA compliance)
Physical ability to lift heavy loads safely and assist residents with mobility needs
