Job Title: General Manager
Reports To: Owner / CEO
Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic General Manager to lead and optimize the overall performance of our multi-service construction and property services company. The GM will provide oversight and management across all business lines— our main business is snow removal, but also including general contracting, roofing, windows & doors, pool installation with other seasonal services: landscaping, hardscaping, concrete, fencing, decks, and internal operations such as the shop and equipment management.
This position is accountable for aligning operations with financial performance, process improvement, team and subcontractor development, and seasonal strategy. The ideal candidate is both a systems thinker and a team builder who can drive measurable results while positioning the company for growth.
Core Responsibilities
1. Strategic Oversight of Operations
- Lead all operational departments with a focus on cross-functional efficiency, communication, and output.
- Develop and monitor SOPs to ensure consistent project execution across service lines.
- Create scalable workflows that support growth and improve profitability.
- Coordinate department heads (sales, production, field crews, finance, admin) to stay aligned with company goals.
2. Business Planning & Seasonal Strategy
- Analyze historical performance trends to identify seasonal demand, capacity, and revenue opportunities.
- Build an annual operations calendar that aligns labor, marketing, and production with seasonal service offerings (e.g., snow in winter, landscaping in summer).
- Work with the Owner to develop long-term strategy and investment plans based on market conditions and company strengths.
- Ensure all software is utilized efficiently, seek alternatives for efficiencies and lead the company into AI led software platform.
3. Financial & Performance Management
- Oversee company financial performance, budgeting, job costing, and reporting, have visibility daily into company and project profitability..
- Monitor profitability by division and recommend changes to pricing, process, or labor allocation.
- Implement KPIs and dashboards to track team and project performance.
- Lead cost-efficiency efforts across the organization, including tool/equipment purchasing, vendor contracts, and material use.
4. Leadership & Team Development
- Build a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, communication, and trust.
- Guide department leaders and foremen through clear expectations, goal setting, and coaching.
- Resourceful in finding new subcontractors and hiring.
- Design and implement a performance review process that promotes continuous improvement.
- Ensure adequate training programs and succession planning are in place.
5. Sales to Project Completion Alignment
- Work with the sales team to ensure project scope, estimates, and timelines are accurately communicated and achievable.
- Maximize smooth handoffs between sales, estimating, project management, and field execution.
- Monitor the client experience from contract to final walk-through to ensure consistency and satisfaction.
- Monitor sales funnel to ensure you know lead status weekly and what is expected to close to be able to work directly with team planning.
- Standardize project review and closeout procedures across departments. Learn and implement processes from mistakes.
6. Shop, Equipment & Internal Operations Oversight
- Ensure the shop and equipment operations are aligned with field demand and safety requirements in advance of use.
- Implement systems for tracking, maintenance scheduling, and equipment lifecycle management.
- Oversee tool and asset management to reduce loss and downtime.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of leadership experience in snow removal, construction, property services, and /or a multi-line trade business.
- Proven ability to build teams both in house and sub contractors, improve processes, and drive financial results.
- Strong strategic thinking and organizational planning skills.
- Proficiency with business management tools (e.g., CRM, QuickBooks, LMN, AI, etc.).
- Knowledge of seasonal planning and resource allocation in service-based industries.
- Ability to lead both office and field teams with a coaching and performance-oriented approach.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
