Overview

Join our compassionate healthcare team as a Hospice Aide, where your dedication will make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients nearing the end of life. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to patients, ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect during their final journey. Your energy, empathy, and attention to detail will help create a peaceful environment for patients and their families alike. This paid position offers an opportunity to grow professionally while delivering heartfelt care in a supportive setting.

Duties

Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility to promote independence and comfort
Monitor patient condition through regular observation of vital signs and overall well-being, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, respecting their personal preferences and cultural backgrounds
Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards
Support end-of-life care by creating a calm environment, assisting with pain management, and respecting patient dignity at all times
Assist with transfers using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other equipment while ensuring safety protocols are followed

Experience

Prior experience working with geriatric patients in hospice, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home healthcare settings is highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care is advantageous
Familiarity with EMR systems and medical documentation practices required for accurate record keeping
Certification in CPR and basic life support (BLS), along with first aid training, is essential for emergency preparedness
Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform patient transfers using appropriate techniques and equipment
Previous roles involving home health care assistance or live-in employment experience are a plus
