Talient Action Group is a commercial printer providing printed products, promotional products and marketing services to customers all over the USA.
Reports directly to Production Manager.
Works closely with other team members.
A bindery person works with final printed sheets and performs the finishing task or tasks required to complete the project.
Experience in print Bindery Preferred but not required.
Machine Operation:
Training on the following machines will be supplied by TAG. Bindery person needs to operate the machines safely and as instructed.
- Die Cutter or Letterpress (die cutting, scoring, perforating, etc.)
- Cutter (setting up programs, cutting stock for press, cutting finished press sheets)
- Folder (set up / calibrate to paper thickness, multiple fold options, score and perf attachments)
- Booklet Maker and Stitcher (Set up for multiple book sizes)
- Drill and Round Corner (set up for drill, round corner or various other options)
- Shrink Wrap (wrapping packages to client specs) ck:
- Laminating – laminate printed press sheets and trim to size
- Hand Work (collating, inserting, applying stamps, etc.)
- Packaging (jobs packaged cleanly and in appropriate packaging, labeled)
- Inserter (insert supplied letters and other items into envelopes)
- Wafer Sealing (adhering one to multiple wafer seals for mailing or to keep a product closed)
Additional Duties:
- Fulfillment: multiple functions to create a finished product from the specification of the client, including but not limited to: taping, glue dots, kitting, special packaging or other hand processes.
- Shipping: UPS, FedEx and/or preparation for delivery
- Receiving products from other vendors or items needed for production (i.e. paper, plates, wide format materials, etc.) – ensure what is received is not damaged and is what is on the packing slip (any discrepancies and any damages reported to manager and purchaser immediately). UPS/FedEx arrivals to be dispersed to appropriate person/department
Quality Check:
Bindery personnel are the final ones to view a product, a final quality check should be performed and any issues be reported to their manager immediately.
Machine Maintenance & Clean-Up:
- Bindery personnel are required to perform regular maintenance on all equipment. Procedures are in place to keep all equipment clean, oiled, greased, etc. and should be followed according to any recommendations that come from the manufacturer. Any potential issues or problems must be reported to their manager immediately to avoid loss of time in production.
- The bindery work area is to be kept clear of any obstacles that may cause an injury and is to be kept swept and clean. All manuals, tools, spare parts, and any equipment that is used must be kept in an organized manner. All manuals are to be kept in order and easily accessible.
Inventory:
Inventory of materials and supplies must be kept up to date and an appropriate amount kept on hand at all times. Requests for supplies must be turned in timely to allow for time needed to receive the product.
Log Time:
It is required to log bindery task time in the TAG MIS Systems for time spent on each specific task and job. This is done through Shop Floor which training will be provided.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
